--Consistent shooting was a problem for George Washington. It cost the Colonials in their loss to St. Joseph's in their Atlantic 10 tourney appearance when they shot only 35.7 percent from the field. That dropped them to 41.5 percent for the season. They shot 33.6 percent on 3-pointers, but take away freshman Nemanja Mikic's 43.6 percent, and the rest of the team shot only 29.0 percent.

--Sweeps were the theme for the Colonials in conference play. The schedule calls for teams in the A-10 to play 10 teams once and three others twice during the regular season. The Colonials swept the season series with Charlotte and La Salle but lost both meetings with Richmond.

2010-11 SEASON RECAP: After losing G Lasan Kromah just before the season began, the Colonials stumbled out of the gate by dropping five of their first seven games, including two at home. They recovered by winning seven of their next eight, but then they had another four-game losing streak. A nice run at the end of the regular season -- seven wins in 10 games -- got them a share of fourth place in the final conference standings, but their No. 5 seed required them to play a first-round game in the conference tournament. Even though it was at home, the Colonials lost to St. Joseph's when their poor shooting, a consistent problem all season, did them in. Bench play also was inconsistent, and that hurt as well.
