Although he has been demoted to a reserve because of the improvement of teammate Darnell Jackson, C Sasha Kaun remains a valuable interior defender for Kansas because of his 6-11 length. He was credited for a strong performance against Nebraska C Aleks Maric. The Jayhawks are getting solid play from the frontline rotation of Jackson, Kaun, Darrell Arthur and Cole Aldrich.

--G Brandon Rush, challenged to be more aggressive by KU coach Bill Self, has 35 points in the last two games, hitting nine 3-pointers in that span. He had 16 points and nine rebounds Monday night.

--F Darnell Jackson is 55-for-76 from the field over the last 10 games.

--G Mario Chalmers missed the final non-conference tune-up, a blowout over Loyola College, with a strained groin but returned against Nebraska and logged 34 minutes. The Loyola game was the first Chalmers has missed in his three seasons at Kansas.
