FINAL RECORD
21-12, 10-6, third in Big 12.

WHAT WENT RIGHT
Not a game passed when F Michael Beasley didn't do something as a freshman to leave fans in awe. The gifted phenom set numerous Big 12 and Kansas State records, and finished with 28 double-doubles, an NCAA freshman record. He teamed with F Bill Walker to give Kansas State its most productive tandem in history, and the two carried the Wildcats to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 12 years as well as their highest finish in the Big 12.

WHAT WENT WRONG
Although Beasley was consistently solid and Walker was steady until a late-season swoon, the remainder of the Wildcats was wildly inconsistent. Usually, when production was lacking from other members of the squad, Kansas State lost despite whatever numbers Beasley generated. One problem was first-year coach Frank Martin had difficulty trimming his rotation and giving other players enough minutes to grow comfortable with their roles.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I have had no time at all to think about my decision [whether to turn pro]. And I'm not going to start thinking or contemplating on what I'm going to do for another couple of weeks." -- Kansas State F Michael Beasley.

Just looking at how we are shooting free throws is really irritating me. When Martin recruits does he look for the worst free throw shooters out there?? I mean we have really good players but only 2 can hit free throws on a consistent basis, Pullen and clemente. Its a free throw for crying out loud. Nobody is guarding you, its just you and the hoop and yet we continue to suck it up. The last decad ...(more)

Hey Minnesota fan here but my cousin goes to K state and I've always been a wildcat fan.  Congrats on the win over Dayton today.  I love how every analyist was reporting the game as an "upset".  Please.  I was glad to see Kstate is for real, please beat Texas.  See you in March!

Noticed we are ranked 24 on a poll. What do you guys think ? I think thats a pretty good placement. We have a good core of players returning from what I would call a successfull season, plus the addition to some really talented players. I'm hoping and whole heartedly believe we will be in the top 10 this year. So, come on guys what are your thoughts ?

For the first time in a long time KSU is coming into a season with something not commonly heard around manhattan... Expectations.  Sure when Beasley came to town there was excitement, but not expectations.  It was looked at as a superstar and he goofs so enjoy whatever happens, he was one and done and last year there were absolutely no expectations and this team did quite well i think.&n ...(more)

Looks like Curtis Kelly was a stud in the scrimmage on saturday.  He had 10 points in a 30 minute scrimmage, leading all scorers and he looked pretty dominant, of course Colon was hurt so we didn't get to see a true comparison.  Sutton and Pullen also looked sharp, with Sutton having 8 points and Pullen having 7.  Side note, Curtis Kelly scored all 10 of his points in a row.  ...(more)

Frank has a good system in place, and we now have good experience ans a great recuiting class coming in. Lets see what the experts pic us to do next season. I also hope we have a better non conference schedule next year. Wh ...(more)
