Bulldogs report: Notes, quotes
--Mississippi State had a hard time containing Vanderbilt G John Jenkins. He scored 29 points and made 10-of-17 shots. But the Bulldogs aren't alone. Jenkins led the league in scoring this season.
--Mississippi State lost despite shooting 50.8 percent from the floor.
--G Dee Bost had a 16 points and 11 assists.
--Mississippi State earned a first-round bye in the SEC tournament for the second straight season.
--State's Feb. 26 win at Tennessee was its first in Thompson-Boling Arena since 1999.
BY THE NUMBERS
12 -- Bench points in the past two games, both wins, for the Bulldogs. That'll need to improve if State is to win three games in three days at the SEC tournament.
