GAME REVIEW

USC 66, Oral Roberts 56

USC 83, Oregon 62

Oregon State 62, USC 58, OT

GAME PREVIEW

vs. UCLA, Sunday, Jan. 11

vs. Arizona State, Thursday, Jan. 15

vs. Arizona, Saturday, Jan. 17

IN FOCUS
Stunned by a loss at Oregon State, the Trojans have a full week to prepare for rival UCLA, which visits the Galen Center. Given how poorly they responded to OSU's zone defense, the Trojans may be happy to see UCLA's tough man-to-man approach. Taj Gibson needs to be a bigger factor this season than he did a year ago, when he averaged just 10 points in three games vs. UCLA.

ROSTER REPORT

-- Taj Gibson scored his 1,000th career point in the win at Oregon and broke Sam Clancy's school record of 196 blocked shots. He scored 15 more points at Oregon State and now has 1,023.

-- Freshman DeMar DeRozan had 14 points and 12 rebounds in the win at Oregon, his first double-double of the season.

-- Dwight Lewis, who leads the Trojans in scoring at 16.1 points per game, had his second-lowest scoring game of the season with just six points at Oregon State.

(POLL) I heard on the Mason & Ireland show on ESPN radio this morning that USC is intrested in Bobby Knight, Billy Gillispey, Jim Clemons (Laker asst coach), Brian Shaw (Laker asst coach) and Craig Robinson (Oregon St. head coach). I think these are all great options to restore the program. I like Clemons and Robinson the best. Who do you like?

Is it just me or is the USC sports program the diriest in the country? Or is it they just dont do it right? I believe there are many more programs out there "paying/buying" players in all sports to come to there school. The USC sports program should be suspended for 2 years and not allowed to play any kind of sports for 2 years (only womens sprts should be allowed). USC is a dirty program and shou ...(more)

As it turns out, the Trojans gave Michigan State one of its two toughest challenges so far in the tournament.

Which was the toughest game along the way?

Call it a tie between USC and Kansas. The Trojans and Jayhawks each suffered five-point defeats.

Michigan State defeated USC, 74-69, in a Midwest Regional second-round game in Minneapolis and defeated Kansas, 67
