GAME REVIEW
Xavier 73, Georgia 61 (NCAA Tournament first round)
Xavier 85, Purdue 78 (NCAA Tournament second round)
Xavier 79, West Virginia 75 (NCAA Tournament regional semifinal)
GAME PREVIEW
vs. UCLA, Saturday, March 29 (NCAA Tournament West regional final)
IN FOCUS
Fascinating matchups dot the on-paper evaluation of UCLA-Xavier. The Bruins didn't handle Western Kentucky's full-court pressure or backcourt quickness as well as observers might have expected. Xavier is a stronger interior team than Western Kentucky and has more balance and depth. If point guard Drew Lavender can be effective dissecting the stingy UCLA defense and Xavier gets into its offense, they'll be there in the end.
One other key for the Musketeers will be perimeter defense, a strength of the team.
ROSTER REPORT
--G Stanley Burrell scored 11 points in Xavier's NCAA second round over Purdue on March 22 and is now tied with Stan Kimbrough for 12th place on Xavier's all-time scoring list at 1,596 points.
--Xavier head coach Sean Miller is 1-1 against Bob Huggins, losing to Huggins' Cincinnati team in 2004-05 but beating Kansas State in 2006-07 when Huggins was in charge of the Wildcats.
