It looks like the Horizon League will be sending two teams to the NCAA tournament after Cleveland State upset Butler in the conference championship game. Behind the strength of 10 3-pointers, the Vikings avenged last year's title game loss against Butler to capture their first Horizon League championship. Their last -- and only other -- trip to the Big Dance came in 1986 as a member of the Mid-Continent Conference.
Butler had swept the season series from the Vikings, but by a total of only four points. They are the first No. 1 seed to lose the tournament in five seasons. The Bulldogs (26-5) are still a safe bet to draw an at-large invite to the NCAA tournament. They have been ranked in the top 25 in both polls for much of the season and have an RPI in the top 25 as well.
