The third time was the charm for Akron. After losing the title game in 2007 and 2008, the Zips beat Buffalo to claim their first MAC championship. It's Akron's first NCAA tournament berth since 1986, when they were still a member of the Ohio Valley Conference and Bob Huggins was coach.
