Former coach Shannon suing university

Former Miami head coach Randy Shannon, who was fired in 2010, is suing the school for not paying him the full amount of a “Gurantee Agreement” he signed in 2010. Shannon is also alleging the school did not compensate him for the team's 2010 appearance at the Sun Bowl. Shannon did not coach the team in the bowl game, but his employment agreement reportedly states he be compensated for a bowl appearance regardless of whether he was present. The school is contractually obligated to pay Shannon through 2014.
