Report: Oklahoma WR Kameel Jackson dismissed from team
Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops dismissed sophomore receiver Kameel Jackson from the team on Saturday, according to an ESPN.com report.
Jackson was suspended on June 9 for violating unspecified team rules. Trey Franks , Quentin Hayes and Jaz Reynolds were also suspended at the time, and Stoops reinstated all three earlier in the week.
Jackson had been allowed to stay on scholarship through summer school to improve his grades, and Stoops said earlier this week that a decision would be made when summer school ended.
The sophomore receiver caught 12 passes for 165 yards last season and was a starter in the Insight Bowl. The Sooners have enough depth at receiver to compensate for the loss, and they could be adding a possible starter in the next few days if Penn State senior Justin Brown decides to transfer.
Brown has not decided on whether to transfer yet, but reports are that he's leaning that way.
