Not surprisingly, Ravens safety Ed Reed intercepted Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton at the end of the third quarter in both teams' season opener Monday night. Not surprisingly, Reed scored a touchdown after said pick.
Overall, Reed has 10 career interceptions vs. Cincinnati tying his 10 picks vs. the Browns (those Ohio teams: they're fantastic!), and with his 34-yard interception return with seconds left in the third quarter, he has amassed an NFL-record 1,497 return yards, beating the previous Rod Woodson mark of 1,483.
After his touchdown, Reed returned to the Ravens locker room with a bum hamstring, but with his 58th career interception, he's tied Emmitt Thomas for 10th on the all-time list.
Reed keeps hinting at retiring, but considering he's still one of the top safeties in the league, he'd be leaving while still playing at a high level.
