South Carolina QB Connor Shaw was honored as the SEC's offensive player of the week on Monday by the league's office for his effort in a 38-35 win over Tennessee.

The knee injury to South Carolina RB Marcus Lattimore was rightfully the biggest story of that game; however, somewhat buried below that storyline was the impressive play of Shaw, who rallied an emotional team for the victory over the Vols.

Shaw completed 22 of 32 attempts for a career-high 356 yards and three TDs. He also helped pick up some of the slack in the run game with 18 carries for 33 yards and an additional TD.

Other SEC awards:

Defensive Player of the Week: Georgia LB Jarvis Jones (13 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries in win over Florida)

Special Teams Player of the Week: Ole Miss K Bryson Rose (hit all three FG attempts, including a game-winning 31-yarder and a career-long 53-yarder vs. Arkansas)

Offensive Lineman of the Week: Alabama G Chance Warmack (graded out at 90 percent, gave up no sacks or QB pressures)

Defensive Lineman of the Week: Missouri DT Sheldon Richardson (five tackles, FF, FR and 60-yard fumble return)

Freshman of the Week: Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel (16-of-23 passing for 260 yards, two TDs, no INTs; rushed for 90 yards and three additional TDs in win over Auburn)
