USC stands up Georgia Tech at Sun Bowl dinner function
Every guy in America who's ever been stood up on a date now has something in common with the Georgia Tech football team.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Yellow Jackets were stood up by USC at a Sun Bowl dinner function Wednesday night. The Trojan party showed up about 90 minutes late for the dinner and ended up eating alone -- because by the time they arrived, the jilted Jackets had already left.
Georgia Tech doesn't take being stood up lightly either. "They were pretty upset," an official told the Los Angeles Daily News.
The dinner wasn't the first gaffe for USC on the trip. When the team arrived in El Paso on Wednesday, DE Leonard Williams tweeted out some not so nice things about the city. Since this is a family site, we can't tell you exactly what Williams said, but you can check here (safe link, explicit language).
Back to the dinner. Yahoo's Pat Forde tweeted that Georgia Tech is upset for nothing. According to Forde, USC's flight to El Paso was late, which led to a late practice, which led to a late dinner. Not only that, the Trojans followed the date etiquette book by keeping Sun Bowl officials in the loop on their situation and letting everyone know they'd be late.
No word on if there's going to be a second date.
