Texas announces the transfer of two players

The Texas Longhorns announced on Wednesday that two players would be transferring from the school. Both redshirt freshman tight end Darius Terrell and redshirt sophomore defensive back Eryon Barnett will be leaving the school.

“We appreciate the efforts of both Darius and Eryon during their time at Texas,” said head coach Mack Brown in a statement. “We understand their reasons and support their decisions. We wish them the best of luck in the future.”

Both players came to Austin as four-star recruits, though neither saw much time on the field.

Barnett came to Texas as part of its 2009 recruiting class, and missed all of the 2011 season with a knee injury. He played in eight games during his Texas career, mostly on special teams.

Terrell was a member of Texas' 2010 class, and caught only one pass during his nine games as a Longhorn.
