Weapons charge dropped against Purdue receiver Antavian Edison

By Tom Fornelli | College Football Writer
Purdue announced on Tuesday that the weapons charges filed against wide receiver Antavian Edison on May 6 have been dropped.

“We are pleased to know that Antavian's name has been cleared of any wrongdoing,” said Purdue coach Danny Hope in a released statement. “Those of us who know Antavian always believed it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Edison was arrested on May 6 for carrying a concealed weapon when a revolver was found between the driver's seat and the passenger seat in a car he was driving. Antavian's uncle was in the passenger seat of the car and was also arrested.

Edison led Purdue with 584 receiving yards last season on 44 receptions and scored 3 touchdowns.
