TCU and Ohio State announced a non-conference home-and-home series on Tuesday, with the Buckeyes traveling to Fort Worth on Sept. 15, 2018, and the Horned Frogs returning the trip on Sept. 21, 2019.

The two teams have only met six times, with each of the previous games taking place in Columbus. The most recent was a 37-3 Ohio State win in 1973. Overall, the Buckeyes hold a 4-1-1 lead over TCU in the series - which dates back to 1937.

TCU has not played a Big Ten opponent since defeating Wisconsin 21-19 in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 2011.

The series is just the latest upgrade for TCU, which now has an elite non-conference opponent set in stone for 2018-19. If - big if - the Big 12 is still playing a nine-game conference schedule, the Horned Frogs will be an SMU and FCS game away from completing their schedule. With more conference moving towards nine-game schedules, securing those headliner non-conference showdowns will get more difficult moving forward.
