Oregon has dismissed sophomore cornerback James Scales from the program due to a violation of team rules, coach Mark Helfrich announced Saturday.

Scales, a 5-foot-10, 190-pounder didn't play much for the Ducks these past couple of years. He had six tackles in both 2012 and 2011.

Losing Scales shouldn't affect Oregon's depth since the Ducks are set at corner with All Pac-12 performer Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, as well as Terrance Mitchell and Avery Patterson.
