Nebraska and Colorado announce four-game series

Nebraska and Colorado are getting back to their Big Eight roots, as the two schools announced on Thursday that they had agreed to a four-game series.

“There is a lot of great history between Nebraska and Colorado on the football field, so I think this will be an outstanding series for both schools,” said Nebraska coach Bo Pelini in a release. “I think our fans will enjoy the matchups, particularly those in western Nebraska who can make the short drive out to the games in Colorado.”

The four games will be played during two different home-and-homes. The first game will be played in Lincoln in 2018 before moving to Boulder in 2019. The final two games will be played at Colorado in 2023 and Nebraska in 2024.

This is certainly a nice trend to see forming as Nebraska recently announced a series with old Big Eight foe Oklahoma. It also makes a lot of sense for Nebraska and Colorado to play when you consider they were the first two schools to leave the Big 12 for the Big Ten and Pac-12 respectively.

The two schools have met 69 times, with Nebraska owning a 49-18-2 advantage in the series.
