While everyone in Chicago awaits the status of Bears QB Jay Cutler, who is suffering from a concussion, the vigil in Minnesota is for the health of Vikings WR Percy Harvin.
Harvin has been out since injuring his ankle against Seattle on Nov. 11. He was not seen on the field during Wednesday's part of practice that was open to the media, but still has a chance to practice on Friday in hopes of playing Sunday at Chicago.
Harvin sprained his ankle in three places and wound up on crutches after the game. He said he started walking on Tuesday, after spending the bye week in the Vikings training facility rehabbing his ankle.
“The layoff definitely helped,” Harvin said. "I'm itching to get back out there. I wasn't supposed to do anything today, but I told Coach [Leslie Frazier] that I wanted to get on the ground and do a little something. I will see where I am at [Wednesday].”
Harvin said the rehab was pretty intense and it took a little longer to get the swelling out of the ankle than anticipated.
“It's still a little stiff in areas, a little swelling, but not major swelling,” Harvin said. “It's to the point now that I feel I can do a little something -- I will see how much when I can get out there.”
Harvin said he watched the Vikings beat the Lions from his home but doesn't want to watch the game on TV again.
“It was tough,” Harvin said. “A couple of the plays I was about jumping through the roof cheering for those guys. It was great to see them perform.”
