The Jets apparently are going with Kenrick Ellis at nose tackle after releasing veteran starter Sione Pouha on Tuesday.

New York saved $5 million by cutting Pouha and cleared $3.8 million in cap room, according to multiple news outlets reporting the move.

The 34-year-old run stopper started 54 games the past four seasons and spent his entire career with the Jets. A back injury limited him to 12 games in 2012, when he made 29 tackles.

Ellis (6-foot-4, 346 pounds) has played in 17 games over two seasons, making 25 tackles.

The Jets enter free agency with about $9 million in cap room.
