Houston: This is Houston's second bowl game in Fort Worth in four years, having lost to Kansas 42-13 in the 2005 Fort Worth Bowl. The Cougars, under first-year coach Kevin Sumlin, have won six of their last eight games since, finishing the regular season with a 56-42 loss at Rice. More
Air Force: The Falcons defeated the Cougars 31-28 on Sept. 13 in Dallas, after Hurricane Ike moved the game out of Houston. Air Force ran the ball 71 times for 380 yards and did not complete a pass. Houston racked up 534 yards of offense, including 362 passing yards and four touchdowns by Case Keenum, but turned the ball over twice in the wind and rain.
