Jordan Webb interested in Colorado

By Tom Fornelli | College Football Writer
With Charlie Weis taking over as head coach at Kansas, and bringing former Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist along with him, Jordan Webb saw the writing on the wall in Lawrence and decided if he wanted to play football again, a transfer would be his best option. Now after looking around, it seems that Colorado intrigues Webb.

Webb told the Daily Camera that Colorado is a school that interests him because he sees it as a place where he can get some playing time.

"That's the main reason I'm leaving Kansas because I want playing time or at least an opportunity for it and if I go in and work hard at learning the offense and things like that I could have a good shot," Webb told the paper.

For its part, Colorado seems interested in Webb as well, as he's been in contact with Jon Embree and the coaching staff for a month now.

If Webb did decide to transfer to Colorado, whether or not he could show up on campus and start right away is up for debate. Connor Wood transferred from Texas to Colorado last season and is considered the frontrunner at the moment following Nick Hirschman's broken foot that will keep him out this spring. That being said, Webb has more experience than either Wood or Hirschman, which could give him the edge.

Since Webb will graduate from Kansas this spring, he would not have to sit out the 2012 season, and has two years of eligibility remaining. He's also expressed interest in Wisconsin , which is another school looking for a quarterback at the moment.
