Trio of suspended Sooners removed from scholarships

In early May Oklahoma announced the suspension of four players. Wide receivers Trey Franks, Kameel Jackson, Jaz Reynolds and safety Quentin Hayes were all suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. Now three of them are no longer on scholarship.

Bob Stoops said Franks, Reynolds and Hayes have all been removed from their scholarships.

"(They) have been removed from scholarship and we aren't counting on any of them," Stoops told SoonerNation.

"We'll keep moving forward. This program doesn't bank on any one individual player; we've recruited a lot of really good players so we'll keep moving on."

When asked if there was any chance that the three players would be reinstated to the team in the future, Stoops would only say "we'll see."

As for the fourth suspended Sooner, Kameel Jackson, he remains on scholarship as Stoops says Jackson's situation is different.

Jackson had originally tweeted he was going to transfer following his suspension, but changed his mind and admitted his reason for being suspended was failing to meet the team's class attendance policy.
