PHOTO: This is what a $1,700 Alabama back tattoo looks like

By Tom Fornelli | College Football Writer

Maybe there's something wrong with me, but there is nothing in this world that I like enough to get tattooed on my body permanently. It's just not who I am.

There are plenty of people who have a different philosophy than me. For instance, there's Zack Smartt, an Alabama fan who really loves his Crimson Tide. How much does he love the Tide?

Well, enough to sit in a tattoo chair for ten and a half hours and spend $1,700 to have a mural stabbed into his back with a needle.

Hey, that's normal, right?

Zack says that the tattoo was finished in three different sessions. The first session lasted four hours, the second was five hours, and then he spent another 90 minutes in the chair for some finishing touches.

Oh, and if you were wondering, Zack went to Middle Tennessee. No word on whether he'll be having a Blue Raiders logo tattooed on his chest.
