Hurricane Isaac forces La. Tech to postpone Texas A&M game to Oct. 13

By Jerry Hinnen | College Football Writer

Hurricane Isaac has forced its first major scheduling change of college football's opening weekend.

Louisiana Tech said it would make a decision Tuesday on is scheduled home game against Texas A&M Thursday night in Shreveport, La., and it has. Direct from the program's Twitter feed:

Both schools had open dates that week, making the decision to move the game to mid-October easier than it might otherwise have been.

No kickoff time for the rescheduled game has yet been set.

The Bulldogs had been set to play host to the Aggies this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. local time. Mobile, Ala.-based South Alabama, also scheduled to open its season at home this Thursday night, decided earlier Tuesday to only postpone its date against fellow FBS newcomer UT-San Antonio until Saturday.

Tulane's home game against Rutgers in the Superdome is still currently scheduled to go ahead Saturday as planned, but the Green Wave have relocated to Birmingham for practice this week.
