Report: Missouri backup quarterback Maty Mauk arrested after leaving scene of accident

By Chris Huston | College Football Writer

Missouri freshman quarterback Maty Mauk was arrested on suspicion of four misdemeanor charges, including leaving the scene of an accident, after making contact with two vehicles while driving his scooter early Thursday morning, the Columbia Tribune has reported.

Mauk, who had two female passengers riding with him, defied police attempts to pull him over and ran a stop sign before abandoning the scooter and fleeing on foot.

He turned himself in 11 hours later after being contacted by the police. He posted bail and was then released.

Mauk is the second Tigers quarterback to run into trouble with the law this offseason, as backup Corbin Berkstresser was also arrested for leaving the scene of an accident this past May.

There's no word yet on any disciplinary action for Mauk, who set several national passing records at Kenton (Ohio) High. With James Franklin firmly entrenched as the starter, the 6-2, 195-pounder was expected to redshirt anyway.
