According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, LSU and TCU will meet in the 2013 Cowboys Stadium Classic at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
It will be the second time that each school has played in the game, with TCU defeating Oregon State in the 2010 season opener and LSU knocking off Oregon to begin the 2011 season.
Both schools had previously agreed to a home-and-home series in 2013-14, but this new agreement for one neutral-site game will replace that home-and-home series.
Which isn't really surprising. Now that TCU is in the Big 12, it already has a tough enough conference schedule. As does LSU, so playing once at a neutral location definitely seems logical for both schools.
Of course, money was no doubt a large factor in the decision. TCU received $1 million for its game against Oregon State in 2010, and LSU got $3.5 million for playing Oregon last season. This year, Michigan andAlabama split $9.4 million for opening the season in Cowboys Stadium.
It's hard to be sure if both LSU and TCU will be able to take in such a haul, but neither school will mind trying.
