Reports that that Notre Dame and Connecticut could potentially play a football game in Fenway Park during the 2014 football season are "inaccurate," according to Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick.

"We have work to do on our future football schedules, given the announcement last week relative to our upcoming Atlantic Coast Conference relationship," Swarbrick said in an official release. "However, media reports today that we will play Connecticut in Fenway Park in 2014 are inaccurate."

Multiple outlets, including the Boston Globe, cited sources that indicated discussions are in the early stages to get a high profile game between the Irish and Huskies at Fenway Park in 2014. The reports cited Connecticut's regional appeal to the New England area and Notre Dame's national brand as primary factors driving the decision.

Both Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium have hosted college football games in recent years, with the Pinstripe Bowl contract currently running through the 2013 regular season. The last football game at Fenway Park was between the Patriots and the Bengals on Dec. 1, 1968.
