Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson has been cleared to play against Rutgers this weekend, John L. Smith announced on Thursday.
"Good news this afternoon. Tyler is cleared to go," Smith said. "That's very exciting and we are thankful that he is. Our football team is excited about that. Now we need to go to the field and be accountable and execute."
Wilson suffered a concussion during the second quarter of the Razorbacks' 34-31 overtime loss to Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 8, and missed the entirety of Alabama's 52-0 rout last week in Fayetteville.
The senior quarterback has thrown for 563 yards and five touchdowns in his limited time on the field this season. With Wilson on the sidelines, the Razorbacks offense has scored just one touchdown and one field goal.
Wilson's addition will certainly help against a stout Rutgers defense that has benefited from extra rest since their victory over South Florida last Thursday. The Scarlet Knights currently rank 12th nationally in total defense, giving up under 250 yards per game. Even against a tough Rutgers defense, Arkansas fans can expect to see much more than 137 yards of offense (the Razorbacks' total for the game against Alabama) with Wilson under center.
