"It's Week 6, a guy can dream"
Dennis Dodd and I were discussing the series of events required for West Virginia to be in the BCS title hunt on the podcast when he the made the declaration above.
With potentially six ranked opponents in their next seven games, the Mountaineers have a tough two months ahead in Big 12 play. But if -- and it's a BIG IF -- they outscore everyone, that's one hell of a BCS resume -- no matter how many points they give up.
Just six weeks into the season, there is still plenty of time to dream up the wild scenarios that will occur in the hectic October and November months. Conference play is heating up, and this week we get a full dose of competition with division/conference race implications. The soon-to-be award-winning Doddcast kicks off by reviewing West Virginia-Baylor and previewing the Mountaineers test on Saturday against Texas. We then move through the Pac-12 before landing at the pair of Top 10 showdowns in the SEC. Stick around for some Miami-Notre Dame chatter and a brief tangent early on the evolution of offensive play-calling.
