Per this report from CBS affiliate WAFB, district judge Chip Moore ruled that Jefferson's arrest for simple marijuana possession violated the terms of the bond issued following his 2011 arrest for simple battery, and ordered Jefferson to report to jail by 2 p.m. CT Tuesday.
The judge also ordered Jefferson to undergo a substance abuse evaluation.
Jefferson was arrested in August 2011 after the infamous and controversial bar fight in the parking lot of "Shady's," a Baton Rouge bar, an incident that led to Jarrett Lee taking over LSU's starting quarterback position for the first two months of the 2011 season.
"When someone is on bond and they re-offended, obviously the judge that sets the bond will take a look at the reasoning behind it," district attormey Hillar Moore told WAFB, without referring to Jefferson specifically. "Everyone is presumed innocent, even on a re-arrest."
Jefferson was one of four former Tigers arrested Oct. 25 after officers found several bags of marijuana inside an apartment rented by former Heisman finalist cornerback Tyrann Mathieu. Mathieu, Jefferson and Karnell Hatcher were charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession while Derrick Bryant was charged with possession with intent to distribute.
