OREGON STATE WON: Things couldn't have started much worse for Oregon State. The game was only 21 seconds old when Cody Vaz was sacked and fumbled, falling to the ground as Arizona State's Junior Onyeali picked it up and walked one yard into the end zone to put Arizona State up 7-0. The Beavers would work their way back into the game, though, taking the lead only 8 minutes later and never really looking back.

WHY OREGON STATE WON: Cody Vaz didn't have the best of nights for the Beavers, but he made some big throws and did not make the mistakes that plagued Sean Mannion in last week's loss to Washington. Vaz completed only 14 of his 33 passes, but he did throw for 3 touchdowns to only 1 interception. He got a lot of help from his teammates, too.

Markus Wheaton combined for 165 total yards and 2 touchdowns while Brandin Cooks caught 6 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown as well. Terron Ward paced the run game with 146 yards and a touchdown of his own as well.

Still, the key for Oregon State, as has been the case so often this season, was its defense. The Beavers held the Arizona State offense to only 303 yards and 2 touchdowns. Of course, 77 of those yards and the second touchdown came on Arizona State's final possession of the night when the game was already decided.

WHEN OREGON STATE WON: Early in the fourth quarter Vaz found a wide open Brandin Cooks for a 49-yard touchdown to make it a 36-19 game. You knew then that Oregon State was going to be just fine.

WHAT OREGON STATE WON: A Pac-12 title is still within reach, and Oregon State controls its own destiny. As long as it wins out the Beavers will not only be playing in the Pac-12 Championship, but they'll be hosting it at Reser Stadium.

WHAT ARIZONA STATE LOST: The wheels are coming off at Arizona State. After starting the season 5-1 and 3-0 in the Pac-12 the Sun Devils have now lost three straight. Now, instead of looking like a BCS contender, the Sun Devils are looking like a team that will struggle to finish 6-6.
