Week 10 Rewind: LSU's best game of season still wasn't enough

By Chip Patterson | College Football/Basketball Writer
LSU put up more yards and points against Alabama than anyone had all season, but it still wasn't enough to win. (US Presswire)

Alabama's 21-17 victory over LSU on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium was arguably the best game of the three showdowns between the Tide and Tigers in the past calendar year, but it was just one part of an incredible Week 10 in college football.

From the wonders of Johnny Football against Mississippi State early in the day to San Diego State's upset of Boise State on the Smurf Turf in the wee hours of the morning -- the college football gods were smiling on loyal fans. Tom Fornelli joins me on the CBSSports.com College Football Podcast to recap all the biggest stories and takeaways from the weekend.

Tune in for our thoughts on how Alabama, Oregon, Kansas State and Notre Dame each handled their tests on Saturday, and if they showed anything to change our thoughts on the final four weeks of the regular season. We also discuss where Louisville fits in the picture. The Cardinals improved to 9-0 over the weekend and could also finish the regular season undefeated. But the Cardinals face a steep climb to the BCS title game.

All of the weekend's best performances, and a few of the worst, get some attention in the Week 10 surprises/disappointments segment to wrap and we preview a Wisconsin-Indiana game that carries B1G title game implications. I actually got really, really excited for that game talking about it with Tom on the podcast -- something I never thought I would say about a Wisconsin-Indiana game.
