Recent history has shown us the chances of Alabama, Kansas State, Notre Dame and Oregon all finishing the season undefeated are very low, so we expect that the race for No. 1 and No. 2 in the BCS standings will shake itself out over the next four weeks.
But what if they don't? Assuming Alabama holds onto its No. 1 position, there will be debate raging on which team is deserving of the No. 2 spot. College Football Insider Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerCBS) joins me on the podcast to make the case for Kansas State as that team -- for entertainment purposes only, of course.
Jeremy was on the scene in Manhattan, Kan., for the Wildcats' 44-30 win over Oklahoma State. He shares some of his thoughts on how Bill Snyder's team continues to win, as well as its chances to finish the season without a loss. We discuss Collin Klein's status, including Jeremy's hunch on if the star quarterback will play against TCU on Saturday.
Stick around to the end to hear us break down the odd nature of Joker Phillips' eminent dismissal at the end of the season, and what to expect now that the coaching carousel is turning and college football's silly season is officially underway.
(Tune in on Wednesday to hear Dennis Dodd make the case for Oregon as the No. 2 team in the country on the Doddcast.)
