Pac-12 releases full 2013 football schedule

One great thing about college football is that there really is not much of an offseason. The 2012 season has been over for less than a week, and yet the 2013 spring practices will begin in less than two months. In the coming weeks, we will piece together the calendar for those 2013 football teams as conferences finalize their league schedules.

On Thursday, the Pac-12 released its entire conference schedule. The big nonconference matchups, like Boise State and Washington rematching their Las Vegas Bowl showdown on the opening Saturday, were already in place, but the league office did some work to set up attractive matchups for prime-time slots.

One big change from 2012 is the decision to move the Pac-12 Championship Game from a Friday night to Saturday. The 2013 title game will be played on Dec. 7, a change from the previous two years when the game was held on Friday night.

The 2013 regular-season schedule features six games on Thursday night, with three games taking place on a Friday. Arguably the most anticipated date on the schedule is Thursday, Nov. 7. Oregon will travel to Stanford as the Pac-12 North favorites rematch their 2012 overtime battle -- a 20-17 win for the Cardinal in Eugene, Ore.
