Notre Dame defensive lineman Kapron Lewis-Moore suffered a torn ACL in Monday night's BCS Championship. The school confirmed the news on Thursday. Lewis-Moore had to be helped off the field during Notre Dame's 42-14 defeat against Alabama.

"I will bounce back and be on the field in no time," tweeted Lewis-Moore on Thursday.

Though "no time" is more like six to eight months, which is the prognosis on his recovery as Lewis-Moore will have surgery on his injured knee within the next two weeks. Which would mean that Lewis-Moore could be back on a football field as early as July, in time for the next college football season, but not in time for Lewis-Moore.

Lewis-Moore's college career is over and this injury will no doubt impact his status in the NFL Draft. He was already projected as a seventh-round pick, but now that he won't be able to work out for teams, odds are his best hopes are to catch on as a free agent somewhere. Considering the season he had with the Irish, that shouldn't be too big of a problem.

Lewis-Moore finished with 8.5 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 9 quarterback hurries and 2 forced fumbles this season, serving as a disruptive force on Notre Dame's defensive line. Should he recover from the injury, he'll get a chance somewhere, but this certainly isn't the ideal way to have your college career end.
