If Lane Kiffin won games as often as he seems to tick people off he probably wouldn't tick people off nearly as often. The latest person to take umbrage with Kiffin is defensive end recruit Kylie Fitts. Fitts had been planning to enroll at USC for the spring semester but had this scholarship pulled only days before enrolling. To be clear, Fitts still had a scholarship offer from USC, just not for this semester.
Fitts finished up high school early so he could enroll early at USC and as recently as Jan. 5 at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Fitts claims USC coaches were ready to have him on campus. Then Jan. 7 (Monday) came around and Fitts was informed by the school his scholarship for the spring was no longer available to him.
The semester began on Jan. 10.
Needless to say, Fitts wasn't too happy and although USC still wants him he's de-committed and is now considering Notre Dame, Washington and USC's crosstown rival UCLA. And as if that's not enough, Fitts' high school coach, Kurt Bruich, also took to Twitter to share his feelings on Kiffin.
When people are desperate, their true colors show. Take the USC coach, captain of an underachieving ship. His true color: SHADY! #goKylie— Kurt Bruich (@CoachBruich) January 11, 2013
Lane probably shouldn't bother sending coaches to Redlands Easy Valley anytime soon.
-- Let's be real here. If you go to the local Wal-Mart just so you can pose for pictures with a trophy you deserve to be made fun of on the Internet.
-- Texas A&M's athletic director had a sit down with Johnny Manziel's parents to discuss the best way to handle Manziel's newfound notoriety thanks to his Heisman Trophy. No word on whether or not Texas A&M is also trying to figure out a way to trademark a quarterback tweeting photos of himself gambling at a casino. But they probably will. Texas A&M trademarks everything. I probably owe them money now just for writing this.
-- If you're Illinois and you need a new offensive coordinator then you might as well hire the guy who was head coach of the only FBS program you held under 17 points all season.
-- Auburn got some bad news about a defensive line commit on Monday night. Making matters worse, he just might be leaving for Alabama.
-- The college football blogosphere is losing one of its originals as Dawg Sports' T. Kyle King is hanging up his keyboard. He'll be missed.
