Notre Dame -- Needs: OL, WR, TE. 247Sports Team Class Rank: 3 -- Brian Kelly may have helped lead Notre Dame to a national championship game in only his third season at the school, but in order to maintain that kind of success he must keep winning on National Signing Day. Judging by this year's Notre Dame class, it seems Kelly knows that.
Notre Dame has some holes to fill on its offensive line, and at tight end and wide receiver, and Kelly is filling them. Nearly half of the 2013 Irish class (11 of 23) is made up of such players, with nine of those players rated four stars or higher. The offensive line class, featuring players like Hunter Bivin, Mike McGlinchey, Steven Elmer and John Montelus, is very impressive. Which makes it clear that Kelly realizes that recruiting a strong offensive line can have the same kind of impact on the Irish offense that recruiting so many top defensive linemen had on his defense.
And this Irish class isn't light on defensive talent, either. The best player in the bunch is five-star outside linebacker Jaylon Smith, who may end up being a better player than Manti Te'o when his time in South Bend is over. Kelly also has commits from plenty of other four-star defensive backs and defensive linemen to help bring more depth to his defense and maintain the success on that side of the ball.
If Notre Dame's 2013 recruiting class is any indicator, the Irish won't be dropping off again anytime soon.
