Jordan Cunningham picks Vanderbilt over Miami, Florida State, others

Vanderbilt's solid 2013 recruiting class got even stronger on National Signing Day when wide receiver Jordan Cunningham chose the Commodores over Florida State, Miami and Stanford.

In a nationally televised announcement, Cunningham mentioned a "50-year career plan" that included a successful Division I career, NFL career, and a career in engineering. The star wide receiver said that Vanderbilt could offer "the best of both worlds" and believes that the Commodores can win an SEC championship "in the next few years."

The 6-foot-3, 175 pound wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., visited Florida State as recently as Jan. 25 and reportedly was keeping Miami in the mix. Cunningham joins four star defensive end Landon Stokes (Orlando) and three star running back Raphael Webb (Gainesville) as Florida natives in Vanderbilt's 2013 recruiting class.

For Vandy head coach James Franklin to enter South Florida and get a touted four-star receiver like Cunningham is yet another sign of the upward trajectory in Nashville.
