Alabama lands four-star DT Dee Liner

Yes, he's a defensive lineman named Dee Liner. If he's as good as advertised, signing day will be the start of putting all the jokes behind him.

A four-star defensive tackle from Muscle Shoals, Ala., Liner announced Wednesday he will sign with Alabama, taking the Tide over their in-state rivals at Auburn. Liner was committed to the Tigers throughout most of 2012 but left the Auburn fold after the departure of Gene Chizik and his staff and was widely expected to sign with Alabama.

Liner is the No. 112 overall prospect and No. 10 defensive tackle, according to 247Sports, but he is also considered an even better prospect by most other services.

At 6-feet-2.5 and 277 pounds, Liner has the combination of size, strength and agility that should make him a natural fit as a defensive end in Nick Saban's 3-4 system.
