Athletic director Pat Haden makes theatrical debut in USC play

Since taking over as USC athletic director in 2010, Pat Haden has preached of his desire to see Trojans athletes take full advantage of the college experience.

Now, the former USC quarterback is taking his own advice.

Haden plays a postman in a campus theater production of "The Most Happy Fella," which debuted on Thursday night. The show runs for 10 days and Haden's role involves a singing solo.

"I've started in two NFC championship games and played in front of hundreds of thousands of people athletically," said Haden before the show's opening. "This will be, singularly, the most frightening night of my life."
