Report: Jon Bon Jovi's son to walk on at Notre Dame

By Chris Huston | College Football Writer

Jesse Bongiovi, the son of 1980s pop-metal star Jon Bon Jovi, has decided to walk on to the Notre Dame football team this fall, according to Irish Sports Daily.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder from Brooklyn's Poly Prep Country Day is also a standout in lacrosse and hopes to play cornerback for the Irish, though he is "open to any suggestions."

Bongiovi is the latest son-of-a-pop-star trying make his way in the college football world. P Diddy's son, Justin, is a cornerback at UCLA while Snoop Dogg's son, Cornell Broadus, is an elite high school recruit who has been offered by several Pac-12 schools.

Compared to Combs and Broadus, Bongiovi's chances of playing significant minutes in college are probably living on a prayer. Hopefully, for the Irish's sake, he won't give football a bad name.
