The Military Bowl reached an agreement with Conference USA for the 2013 game, the first of its kind played at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.

The game, created in 2008 as the EagleBank Bowl, has been played at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. When the ACC released its bowl schedule earlier this month, the 2013 Military Bowl was set to feature an ACC opponent against an at-large selection. But late last week, Conference USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced the addition of the Northrop Grumann sponsored bowl game to the league's postseason lineup.

"We are excited to be a part of the Military Bowl in a great destination like Washington, D.C.," Banowsky said in the official release. "We are also pleased to have the opportunity to face an opponent from the ACC in a great game day setting like Annapolis."

The agreement gives Conference USA a sixth bowl game for the 2013 season. The conference also has ties with the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl in St. Petersburg, Fla., Heart of Dallas Bowl, R+L Carrier New Orleans Bowl and Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.

Moving from Washington D.C. to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium "puts our game into a facility that honors the men and women who have served in our armed forces," according to DC Bowl Committee Executive Director Steve Beck. Last season, after beating Bowling Green 29-20, San Jose State became the first ranked team in bowl history to finish the season 11-2 overall.
