Wide receivers Cayleb Jones and Kendall Sanders have been reinstated to the Texas program but will both miss the 2013 season opener due to their arrests this past spring, coach Mack Brown announced on Monday.

Jones, a rising sophomore, was arrested following an altercation in late February that resulted in his suspension from the team, pending the resolution of his legal status. His felony charges were subsequently dismissed and reduced to a misdemeanor in late April.

Sanders, also a rising sophomore, was arrested in early April in College Station on a charge of driving under the influence of alchohol. While he was not publicly suspended by Brown, his announced reinstatement implies this was indeed the case.

Jones caught two passes for 35 yards in 2012 while Sanders caught two passes for 15 yards. Both are expected to compete for playing time this fall.

The Longhorns open with New Mexico State in Austin on Aug. 31.
