Terrelle Pryor's unverified 2008 Big Ten title ring surfaces on eBay

The apparent ring of former Buckeye QB Terrelle Pryor sold on eBay on Saturday.

A ring that appears to have been Terrelle Pryor's infamous 2008 Big Ten championship ring surfaced as an auction item on eBay and sold for $18,000 late Saturday night.

To review, his ring was central in the Ohio State "tattoo-gate" scandal -- a cash-for-memorabilia scheme that ultimately cost coach Jim Tressel his job. It was also part of the reason that last season's 12-0 mark in Columbus was for naught in terms of the national title chase.

Pryor left school after his role in the scandal was revealed.

A ring matching that description (we cannot verify its authenticity) was available to the highest bidder. The seller on eBay was listed as finelineinkusa2010, a curious name due to the infamous tattoo parlor that got the Buckeyes in so much trouble. The bidding quickly escalated Saturday night before closing with the winning bid of $18,000.

Noted on the ring is Ohio State's 42-7 win over Michigan on Nov. 22, 2008, when Pryor threw two touchdown passes.
