If there's a Big Ten program or coach that could use some good news it's Illinois and Tim Beckman, and they got some on Monday.

It was first reported by Zach Kerker and then by ESPN's Joe Schad that Oklahoma State transfer quarterback Wes Lunt is transferring to Illinois. Lunt announced that he was transferring from Oklahoma State in May, and after a month of deliberating -- between only a few schools, namely Illinois and Louisville (thanks to restrictions placed on him by Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy) -- it appears he's decided to move closer to home.

Lunt grew up in Rochester, Ill., which is only a 90-minute drive from the Illinois campus in Champaign.

Lunt started as a true freshman for Oklahoma State in 2012, throwing for 1,108 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions in five games. He was the first true freshman to ever start at quarterback for the Cowboys.

As per NCAA rules, Lunt will have to sit out the 2013 season but will have three years of eligibility remaining at Illinois.
