PHOTO: Washington State coaches catch 500-pound sturgeon

I know you can't really tell from that photo, but according to Washington State linebackers coach Ken Wilson, that's a 9 1/2-foot sturgeon weighing around 500 pounds that Washington State football coaches caught during a staff getaway last week.

Still, while you can't be entirely sure of the size of the fish based on the photo, you can tell that's a large fish.

And it's entirely possible a sturgeon can grow that large. According to Wikipedia, sturgeon in the Caspian Sea have reportedly grown to as large as 18 feet in length and 4,400 pounds. Which seems more like a monster than a fish, and I'm shocked there hasn't been a terrible movie about sturgeons made for SyFy if that's the case.
