UCLA wide receiver Kenneth Walker will miss the 2013 season after undergoing back surgery, the Los Angeles Times reported on Sunday.

According to the report, Walker was bothered by a sore back during spring practice and had the surgery this month. The freshman will redshirt this fall and have three years of eligibility remaining.

Walker caught 11 passes for 87 yards in 2012 and was also used on kickoff returns.

UCLA should be able to weather the storm in 2013 without Walker. It returns leading receiver Shaquelle Evans plus rising young talents Jordan Payton, Devin Lucien and Devin Fuller.
