While many fans enjoy the MACtion that takes place during high scoring, midweek conference games, Bowling Green took a different route to the postseason in 2012. The Falcons reached a bowl game for the first time since 2009 in large part because of a defensive unit that ranked in the top 10 nationally, allowing just 16.8 points per game.
One of the strengths of that defensive unit was the ability to rush the passer. Bowling Green had 38 sacks in 2012, more than any other unit in the MAC and T-11th nationally. Over the weekend, the Falcons decided to get its first sack of 2013.
Falcons SID Dave Meyer decided to suit up in full pads and allow defensive tackle Ted Ouellet to deliver the hit on camera.
The hit was brutal, but don't worry: Meyer checked in with his followers on Twitter to give a status update following the sack.
If people could check in on Ted Ouellet during the day that would be great. I am afraid he hurt himself during the sack.— Dave Meyer (@DaveMeyerBG) June 20, 2013
