PHOTOS: Appalachian State unveils new uniforms

The latest team to reveal a new set of uniforms -- not just a road and away look, but an Oregon-style mix-and-match system with five different options -- is the Appalachian State Mountaineers, which will say goodbye to the FCS with an updated look from Nike.

The uniforms feature black and white jerseys and pants as well a gray alternate jersey -- one with the team's "Always Attack" motto across the nameplate -- that will be auctioned off to fans after its use. But perhaps the most interesting wrinkle is the move toward a matte-finish helmet and the use of the classic "Yosef" logo (corncob pipe and all) on an alternate helmet:

For a full gallery of the uniforms, make sure to visit the Appalachian State football site. The Mountaineers will move up to the FBS level next year.
